AGRILINK 2009’S ILDEX PAVILION PROMISES NEW TECHNOLOGIES AND BUSINESS SOLUTIONS

One of Asia’s most influential agriculture and dairy trade fairs, the International Livestock, Dairy, Meat-Processing and Aquaculture Exposition (ILDEX), is bringing its global expertise to Philippine shores by launching an ILDEX Pavilion at this year’s 16th Agrilink/Foodlink/Aqualink, slated on October 8-10, 2009 at the World Trade Center.

“Our ILDEX Pavilion is an interesting concept that we developed especially for the Filipino
livestock market. It is a good strategic move for both Agrilink’s organizer, Foundation for
Resource Linkage and Development (FRLD), and ILDEX’s coordinator, NEO,” said Mr. Suhbpong
Smithtun, NEO’s International Project Manager.

He continued, “FRLD had established itself over the years through strong relationships with
the local agri community; while NEO, for 10 years now, has had good connection with
renowned technology leaders in livestock and event management. This is why the ILDEX
Pavilion will be a perfect marketplace for both buyers and sellers in the livestock, dairy,
meat-processing, and aquaculture industry. This is also perfect timing too, as Filipino
producers are in urgent need to improve their productiveness and competitiveness to stay
ahead of influx competition after the full implementation of ASEAN Free Trade Agreement
(AFTA) next year.”

Full implementation of AFTA next year, according to Smithtun, will mandate ASEAN member
countries to bring their tariff rates down to between zero and five percent on a range of
products. Among the sectors that might see themselves struggling with stiff competition
include poultry, egg, and the hog industries. This is due to higher cost structure compared to
other countries. Technology will play a crucial role in productivity and competitiveness, too.

Meanwhile, the ILDEX Pavilion promises a grand showcase of technology and solutions from
leading international companies who will showcase their products and expertise for the local
community.

“Thirty companies from Argentina, China, Korea, Thailand, the Netherlands, the Philippines,
UK and USA will appear at the ILDEX Pavilion. Apart from showcasing the latest technology
and business solutions to trade visitors from livestock, diary, meat-processing, and
aquaculture industry, we will also organize a series of networking activities for local visitors
and international exhibitors such as business matching,” added Mr. Smithtun. “We expect
that the ILDEX Pavilion will attract a good number of trade visitors who are searching for new
technology, innovative ideas, business partners, and business solutions as well as knowledge
and information to stay afloat amidst rising competition.”

Some of the participating exhibitors include: Adbiotech Co., Ltd, Animal Supplement &
Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Beijing Smile Feed Sci. & Tech. Co., Ltd., Bios Agricorp, Dadhank
(Chengdu) Biotech Corp., Thailand’s Department of Foreign Trade, GUIFTS Inc., The American
Jacobs Corporation, Shenyang Aerospace Xinguang Cryogenic Vessel Manufacturing Co., Ltd.,
Korea’s SOMA Inc., and Van Aarsen Pacific Inc.

Adbiotech Co., Ltd, a leading Korean feed additive and animal health company, will
demonstrate its ‘Be Nature’ campaign to underline the importance of going green today.

innovation of premix, feed supplements, and antibiotics. China’s largest Phytase
manufacturer, Beijing Smile Feed Sci. & Tech. Co., Ltd., will introduce high quality Phytase in
various forms including powder, granular and coated granular. In addition to how its Phytase
can enhance the nutritive value, they will also demonstrate how their products can
effectively reduce environmental phosphorus pollution.

Bios Agricorp from Finland, a pioneer of detergent segment in Europe, will exhibit high
performing quality products that are utilizing the latest technology for agriculture, food and
feed industries. Dadhank Biotech Corp., the biggest manufacturer of feed flavors in China,
will showcase their feed additives and feed flavors. Thailand’s Department of Foreign Trade
will highlight the famed Thai Tapioca, dubbed as the magic plant for feed, food and fuel.

GUIFTS Inc., a total business solutions expert for poultry and livestock industry, will
demonstrate applying and integrating the latest technologies in climate control and
automated production. The American Jacobs Corporation, best known for its craftsmanship in
the global milling industry, will showcase its outstanding replacement parts for hammer mills
and pellet mills.

Its philosophy "technology leading, quality first, client first, good faith, and promise keeping,
constant improvement", has kept Shenyang Aerospace Xinguang Cryogenic Vessel
Manufacturing Co., Ltd., the premier manufacturer of liquefied nitrogen vessel. Korea’s SOMA
Inc. will introduce its new biotechnological concept and aims to showcase its other patented
products such as functional feed additives, concentrated feeds, and organic mineral
complexes. Van Aarsen Pacific Inc. of the Netherlands, known for its “turnkey” feed mills
designs and constructions, will demonstrate their innovative solutions to optimize and
modernize of existing mills for animal and aqua feed industry.

“In order to facilitate these international suppliers and local buyers, we have introduced
ILDEX Pavilion Exclusive Business Matching Program to facilitate face-to-face business
environment between buyers and sellers in professional business context. For any local buyers
and producers who are interested in scheduling meetings with ILDEX Pavilion exhibitors, they
can send e-mail to info@ildex.com,” said Mr. Smithtun.

ILDEX was first launched in 2006 in 3 emerging agricultural countries in Asia namely Vietnam
(ILDEX Vietnam), India (ILDEX India), and China (ILDEX China). At present, ILDEX is not only
seen as the leading trade show for livestock, dairy, meat processing, and aquaculture industry
but the business forum where industry operators meet, greet, trade, update and share latest
technological developments. For more information of ILDEX Pavilion, its highlights and the full
exhibitor list, contact Mr. Lertwat Chanthatarath at info@ildex.com or visit www.ildex.com.
